METAFIT

We have a fantastic team of fitness experts running PE to HIIT (High-intensity interval training) classes.

Gemma Slater

I have been a fitness instructor since 2017 at it is a joy to share my passion for health and fitness with others.

I love the buzz of a group exercise fitness class, seeing participants come together and enjoy a workout. I have trained in Metafit, Aqua Aerobics, many Les Mills programmes, but also teach freestyle classes within many of the local fitness clubs and have successfully taught online since March 2020. I am a Blaze trainer at David Lloyds Aberdeen, where I am known for pushing members to their maximum fitness levels to achieve the best results they can.

Gillian Reece

I’m Gillian, a mum of two teenage girls. I went from gym class participant to teaching group fitness five years ago and just love the buzz and results from high energy classes and the benefits of low intensity work outs too.

Lockdown introduced me to Zoom and online teaching and now I teach a mixture of in-class workouts in various gyms across Aberdeen, along with a few classes a week via Zoom from my garage, including High Intensity Interval Training (HiiT), body conditioning (with and without additional weights/dumbbells), Core and so on. My favourite is a quick HiiT or Tabata workout – in under 30 minutes you have had a full body cardio or strength workout.

Michelle Milligan

I have been teaching fitness classes around Aberdeen for 25 years in disciplines such as cardio based classes: strength, cycling classes, circuits, Pilates, boxing.

I am also a personal trainer at Kippie Lodge Sports & Country Club in Milltimber. In my spare time I take part in CrossFit, cycle with my husband, enjoy long walks and sunny holidays.

Marnie Davidson

After working as a personal trainer and class instructor for a large commercial gym chain, I now run my own group training business offering a wide variety of online and outdoor sessions (‘MDPT High Fivers’).

I like to use lots of different training tools and methods, ranging from free weights to resistance bands and a special focus on bodyweight work to make exercise accessible to everyone – both for cardio conditioning and muscular strength. Most of all I try to show people that physical activity can be good fun – mostly! I am a fully qualified PT, kettlebell instructor and Metafit coach.

Eve Elsby

I have worked as a freelance fitness instructor for over eight years and have loved every minute of it!

I love the variation of teaching classes across Aberdeen and now online, including group cycle, interval training, holistic programmes and some martial arts, cardio and strength-based work. It is always fantastic to see people progress and how exercise helps both their physical and mental health in a positive way. Outside teaching, I walk a lot, train when I can and I love to travel (which hopefully we can all get back to soon!).

Lynn Cowling

Since qualifying in 1995 I started with general ETM classes, over the years added Reebok Step, Schwinn spin, Boxercise, Body Combat, Body Pump, Metafit and phase IV cardiac rehabilitation.

After working in gyms and fitness centres on a full time basis over an 18 year period, I went back to work full time seven years ago but I just couldn’t give up my classes and you will still find me teaching Metafit, aerobics, conditioning, barbell classes and cardiac rehab five days out of seven.
