Power Up with Pilates

Over the 6-week RigRun competition, choosing one type of exercise and running with it can be tempting. And though this may feel like the best way to climb the International Leaderboards and earn yourself a place in the top 3, there could be a more strategic way.

Incorporating core muscle work, such as Pilates, into your exercise regime isn’t just about providing you with a means of stretching and relaxing after another workout. By improving your posture, mobility and cardiorespiratory capacity, Pilates can help you improve your performance across a wide range of physical activities.

In this live class, Pilates Instructor and Fitness Coach Tamara Gromova will take you through a routine that is suitable for all fitness levels, teaching you the proper form for poses and delving deeper into the benefits of adding Pilates to your exercise regime, including how it can:

  • Enhance your sports performance in activities such as running and weight training
  • Help you recover and prevent injury by supercharging your dynamic strength
  • Boost your energy levels and mood on a long stint away from home
  • Make you more aware of your body, movements and physiological needs

Whether you were a Pilates Pro during the 6-week competition, or you’ve never tried Pilates before, and you’re curious to see how it can help you improve your form for the next event, there is something for everyone in this illuminating and invigorating class.

 

About the Speaker:
Tamara Gromova, active from a young age and a previous member of the Latvian national athletic team, Tamara Gromova now helps clients to exercise correctly through education, motivation, planning and coaching. She has earned various qualifications over her career, including an HND in Fitness, Health and Exercise; REPs Level 3 accreditations in Applying the Principles of Nutrition to a Physical Activity Programme and Personal Training; Active IQ Level 3 Diplomas in Exercise Referral and Sports Massage; a YMCA Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates; and a YMCA Level 3 Award in Adapting Exercise for Antenatal and Postnatal Clients.
